Holly Jones Announced as the New Festival Curator
We are excited to announce that Holly Jones will be the curator for the 2008 San Diego Women's Film Festival. Holly received a B.S. in biology and immediately after graduation began a career in graphic arts and design. She studied fine art for a time at the University of New Mexico, and, after moving to San Diego decided that the city needed its own boutique video store. In February of 2006 she founded Citizen Video, a video store specializing in foreign and independent film and giving voice to those filmmakers who vision is often neglected in popular culture. She looks with enthusiasm to the opportunity of making the vision of women filmmakers seen. |

Southern California's most notable and longest running women's film festival was a big success! We showcased over a hundred films from around the world, offering a diverse selection of features, shorts and documentaries that competed for both Judge and Audience awards.
These independent films highlight positive messages about relevant social issues, including ethnicity, class, culture, race, disability, and gender. The Festival has also hosted an advanced screening of the feature-length new film Nina's Heavenly Delights.
Cox Communications presented this year's San Diego Women's Film Festival. Our Festival page will soon feature a full event recap with photos. See our Awards page for the winners of our Audience and Judges awards.
